News from Outreach

Thank you again for your donations towards Haiti Relief several weeks ago. Since that time we have had one team spend a day at the M.E.R.C.I. Center sorting, packing and moving goods to be sent to Haiti. In the future we will be setting up another visit to the M.E.R.C.I. Center and hope you will join us. In conjunction with our reaching out to Haiti, Faith Lamphier has held two sessions with church members sewing simple dresses for children in Haiti. If you are interested in more about making dresses, contact Faith either directly or through the office.
A few weeks ago a Congregation Survey was distributed during a service. I was disappointed in that we only had 16 surveys returned and plan to provide the survey at a future service in hopes of getting more response. With our sixteen responses it was nice to see that we had interests in each of the areas of Elementary Schools, Housing, and the M.E.R.C.I. Center, as well as some suggestions for other outreach projects.
Summer will be here before we know it, and after our winter I am sure you are looking forward to it as I am. Robeson County is asking for mission teams to spend some time in their area. Robeson County is one of the most impoverished counties in our state. Two years ago we sent a team to Robeson County and built several ramps for people who were unable to get in and out of their homes. It was HOT but very fulfilling to see the faces of the people when they saw the finished products. If we have enough interest, the Outreach committee is contemplating sending a team this summer. Contact me or the office if you would like more information. It is a good opportunity for all ages to work side by side.

Yours in Christ,
