West Nash Youth

March News

Congratulations to our graduating seniors: Emily Howard and Kaitlyn Maddox. We wish you all the best!

Thanks to the youth who helped with the yard sale; those of you who helped the people unload their cars on Wednesday evenings and those who got up early Saturday morning to help with crowd control. Your willingness to serve is greatly appreciated.

Even though school will be out in a few days we will not stop meeting the months of June, July and August. I will send a calendar each month to let you know what days we will meet and what activities are planned. I will text you with information each week as a reminder.

Our meeting dates in June are as follows:
     Sunday, June 2
     Wednesday, June 5
Saturday, June 8 - Meals on Wheels
     Sunday, June 9
     Wednesday, June 12
     Wednesday, June 19

I have been asked if we are going to Lake Junaluska this summer to participate in Surge. Of course we can, if I have youth who want to go and a deposit of $75 per person by June 9. The scheduled weekend for Surge is July 11-14. The cost is $290 per person and includes housing, meals, program and gas. I would love to take a van load to Surge from West Nash! You must send in the deposit to reserve your space.

Fundraisers-

West Nash UMYF try to do several fundraisers a year.  We have sold notecards and calendars. car washes, selling pizza coupons, bake sales, servant auctions and dessert auctions.

Youth Newletter-

The youth receive a newsletter each month telling them of the upcoming events and trips that will be taking place.

Parties-

The youth usually have two parties a year. One is held at Christmas where we get together at someone's home and exchange gifts.  The other party is held in May and is the end of year party.  We usually pick a place where we have never been. (examples:adventure landing park, pool party, etc.)
